Signed French Empire Clock by Maniere, circa 1800

A handsome example of a mahogany and gilt bronze French Empire/Directoire mantel clock;  the circular white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, the dial and backplate signed by the noted clock maker Maniere; the movemenet contained within a glazed rectangular case with molded rectangular cornice and base outlined in finely chased gilded bronze; resting on gilded lions paw feet; the case is also stamped by the ebenist Pabst who supplied furniture to the royal families; French circa 1800.
