A highly sculptural gilt and patinated bronze French Empire mantel clock showing a large standing figure of Siilenius holding the infant Dionysus; after the Greek original by Lysippos;  Silenius leans against a gilded tree trunk incorporating the clock dial and movement; the case supported on a verde antico marble base.
