French Sevres Bisque Porcelain  "Surtout De Table" ( Table Centre) - Circa 1860

French  signed Sevres bisque porcelain table centre  circa 1879 depicting the Hunt " Chasse au Sanglier" showing a wild boar held down by two hounds after paintings by Jean Baptise Oudry ( 1686-1755). This and other models of hunting subjects were adapted and added to during the early 1770's at the Sevres factory. The only recorded purchase of  a surtout de table  identical to this was by Louis XV in 1776. During the 1870's or a  100 years later  the Sevres factory produced further sets of the surtout for display at French Embassies around the world, or to be offered as diplomatic gifts and prizes. This piece is one of them.
